my story

I come from a very large "Finnish" family with a lot of carpenters and contractors. My construction backround started at a young age. My Dad remodeled several homes that we lived in growing up, I helped when he let me. I eventually worked for my Dad and my Uncle, along with a couple of my cousins, during a summer vacation in early high school.

After years of framing, siding and concrete work, an opportunity to focus on finish carpentry presented itself. It didn't take long to realize I enjoyed this more than anything else. I especially like not having to work outdoors in the cold. I was fortunate to start my trimming career with one of the premier Minneapolis builders of the time. As I learned more and my skill level increased, I was asked to help on bigger and more expensive homes. I have been fortunate to work on some of the finest homes in the area. I have also been fortunate to have met and worked alongside some of the best trimmers in the area, where I have learned many tricks of the trade.
